Recruitment and selection are essential human resource functions that help organizations attract, identify, and appoint competent employees for various job roles. Effective recruitment and selection practices contribute significantly to organizational growth by ensuring that the right candidates are placed in the right positions at the right time. The present study, titled "Study of Recruitment and Selection," aims to examine the recruitment and selection procedures followed in organizations, identify the methods used for sourcing and evaluating candidates, and analyze their impact on employee performance and organizational effectiveness. The study adopts a descriptive research approach and utilizes both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data are collected through structured questionnaires and employee feedback, while secondary data are obtained from journals, company reports, books, and online resources. The findings indicate that systematic recruitment planning, transparent selection criteria, and the use of modern hiring techniques improve the quality of hiring decisions and reduce employee turnover. The study also reveals that organizations increasingly rely on online recruitment platforms, aptitude assessments, and structured interviews to select suitable candidates. The research concludes that an efficient recruitment and selection process plays a vital role in building a skilled and productive workforce. Organizations should continuously update their hiring strategies, incorporate technological advancements, and maintain fairness and transparency in the selection process to enhance employee satisfaction and achieve long-term organizational success.
