Abstract

A Cash Management System (CMS) is a comprehensive financial management framework designed to monitor, control, and optimize an organization's cash flows. Effective cash management plays a critical role in maintaining liquidity, ensuring smooth business operations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. In today's competitive business environment, organizations must efficiently manage cash inflows from customers and cash outflows related to operational expenses, investments, and debt obligations. A well-structured cash management system helps businesses forecast cash requirements, minimize idle cash balances, reduce borrowing costs, and maximize returns on surplus funds. This study explores the significance of cash management systems in enhancing financial stability, improving working capital efficiency, and strengthening organizational performance. It examines various cash management practices such as cash budgeting, cash forecasting, receivables management, payables management, liquidity planning, and the use of digital banking technologies. The study also analyzes the benefits and challenges associated with implementing cash management systems in modern organizations. The findings indicate that efficient cash management contributes significantly to improved profitability, risk reduction, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability. Therefore, organizations must adopt effective cash management strategies and technological solutions to maintain financial health and achieve sustainable business growth in an increasingly dynamic economic environment.
