Abstract

The disruptions experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent geopolitical and economic shocks forced organisations to rethink traditional approaches to supply chain management. By 2023, the focus had shifted from short-term crisis response toward long-term recovery and strategic transformation. This paper examines how organisations leveraged supply chain recovery strategies to move beyond operational stabilisation and achieve competitive advantage in 2023. Drawing on secondary data from academic literature, industry reports, and global supply chain surveys, the study analyses key recovery strategies including supplier diversification, digitalisation, resilience-building, and strategic reconfiguration. The paper argues that firms integrating recovery initiatives with broader strategic objectives were able to enhance agility, reduce vulnerability, and strengthen competitive positioning in increasingly volatile markets.
