Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) are transforming financial systems globally.
This paper assesses their impact on trade efficiency in emerging economies (India, Brazil, South
Africa). We analyze benefits (reduced costs, faster settlements), challenges (interoperability,
regulation), and policy implications for enhanced global trade integration, highlighting the need
for coordinated regulatory frameworks.
