This research paper examines the role of social support networks in shaping mental health outcomes in contemporary societies. Social support has long been recognized as a critical determinant of psychological well-being, influencing individuals’ ability to cope with stress, illness, and life challenges. The study explores how family, friends, peer groups, community organizations, and institutional networks contribute to mental health outcomes. It highlights the protective role of social support in reducing psychological distress, preventing mental illness, and promoting recovery. A socio-psychological framework is adopted to analyze different forms of support and their mechanisms. The paper also discusses inequalities in access to social support and their implications for mental health disparities. Findings suggest that strong and inclusive support networks significantly improve mental health outcomes. Strengthening social support systems is essential for effective mental health promotion.
